At least one of 25 photographs in a presentation album titled "Château Royal de Bouchout" is credited "E. Le Graive, Photo". This is most likely Michel Joseph "Emile" Le Graive (° Brussels - Ixelles, 7.6.1845; + Mons, 11.4.1926), long time pastry chef of Princess Charlotte, daughter of Leopold I and one-time Empress of Mexico. Bouchout Castle was Charlotte’s residence from 1879 until her death in 1927. Interestingly, several sources reference one or more "daguerreotypes" of Charlotte by a certain "Le Graive", reportedly made around the time that she was empress of Mexico (1864-1867). During the same period, Emile Le Graive is known to have been a part of the Belgian legion in Mexico in 1864-1865. Le Graive later found fame as the author of cookery books and as a regular pre-World War I contributor to the popular magazine "Journal de la Cuisine" under the pseudonym of "Aunt Emilie".
