Baptised on 26.08.1792; + 24.10.1870. Lithographer. Director of the Art School in Namur. Ran a business selling engravings, books, and tapestry (at least by 1844). He painted a panorama representing the battle of Magenta for the 1859 fair. He added photography to his activities and opened one of the first permanent studios in Namur. "A.J. Lemaître has the honour of informing the persons who wish to have their portrait on glass, on canvas, plain, in colour, and even in oils, that they may apply to him [...] See his products displayed, offering the most perfect likeness and the most exact sharpness" (La Revue de Namur, 19.6.1855).
