Henri Antoine Théodore, known as Privat, ° 9.10.1861; + 4.10.1936. Painter and interior decorator, poster designer and lithographer. Trained in Paris from 1883 until 1889 where he worked with Charles Lameire on decorating the Paris town hall. After his return to Brussels in 1889 he collaborated with the architects Paul Saintenoy and Alban Chambon on interior decoration. Posters for the International Exhibition in Brussels in 1897 and numerous advertising posters, including one for the photography studio of his brother-in-law Paul Boyer (see that name), designed in 1898 but probably never disseminated publicly. An idealized young woman was his favourite theme, in a décolleté smock against a decorative setting with flowers. Livemont used some of his own photographs as models for his compositions. He left about 800 negatives, most of them female nudes taken for the main part at the turn of the century. This collection was acquired by the Fortuny Museum, Venice [I].
