° 9.3.1869; + 7.8.1949. Lawyer. President of the Mons section of the ABP in 1904. President of the "Cercle archéologique de Mons" and of the "Société des Bibliophiles belges séant à Mons". Losseau had his eighteenth-century town mansion (rue de Nimy, 37) completely transformed into an Art Nouveau "Gesamtkunstwerk" by architects Henri Sauvage, Charles Sarrazin and Paul Saintenoy between 1899 and 1912. He had a dark room set up in the basement. Member of the "Club d'amateurs photographes de Belgique" (no forename) in 1908. Still a member of the ABP in 1922.
In keeping with Losseau's interests as a bibliophile, a foundation now runs the mansion as a centre for the promotion of literature. The Foundation houses 800 stereo glass negatives taken by Losseau between 1899 and 1903, comprising landscapes and portraits of family and friends. Exhibitions drawn from this collection were held in 1989 and 2016.
