Emmanuel François, ° 6.12.1834. Recorded as a photographer at Impasse des Fraises, 4 in 1866 and as a photographer aged 37 resident in Brussels - Molenbeek in December 1870. See also: Mauroy [A.] & Eloup [E.]. Recorded as a photographer living at Impasse des Fraises, 7 in the 1876 population register and as a photographer at Rue de Tilly, 8 in the 1880 trade directory ("Emile"). His son Emile Nicolas (° Brussels, 5.12.1874) was recorded as a labouring engraver in Brussels in the 1890 population register.
In a newspaper report on Loup's golden wedding anniversary celebrated in Brussels - Anderlecht in December 1905: "The husband used to be a photographer who, back in the day, lived in the neighbourhood of Saint-Elisabeth barracks - "Caserne des Grenadiers". For many years, grenadiers would have themselves photographed by Loup and the soldiers knew him by his nickname of Manuel" (Le Peuple, 17.12.1905). Loup was a long-standing president of the "Compagnons de Saint-Laurent", the charitable association in charge of the annual "Meyboom" procession and ceremony in Brussels.
