Jean Pierre Joseph, ° 22.2.1863; + 27.5.1902. On the occasion of his wedding in Brussels on 18.10.1890 to Jeanne De Brie (see that name), Maquinay was recorded as a photographer resident in Courtrai. Fellow photographer Hubert Warnotte was one of the witnesses. At that juncture, Maquinay was quite possibly an operator before opening his own short-lived studio. On his divorce certificate dated 23.11.1894, recorded as a photographer living in Brussels, Rue de Flandre, 35 as well as resident in Liège, Rue Fetinnes, 41. Came from Namur when he moved to Antwerp on 21.4.1896. Initially he was recorded there as a photographer at Rue des Tanneurs, 35/5, where he might have operated for Verbeeck Frères (see that name). Subsequently moved to Rue des Jambons, 6 on 23.12.1896 and to Rue Haute, 9 on 3.9.1897, where he might have operated for J. Tobie (see that name). Maquinay returned to Rue des Tanneurs, 35/5 on 13.6.1898. Recorded as a painter resident in Antwerp on his death certificate.
