Ferdinand Antoine Joseph, ° 29.12.1831; + 30.11.1901. Father of Antoine and Fernand (see those names). Husband of Fanny Jeanne Hubertine de Louvrex (1850 - 1935). Merchant tanner. From 1879 on he showed interest in all photographic processes, in particular developing with pyrosulphite in 1884. Constructed various cameras which he had modified: photo-hat in 1886-1887 and photo-book in 1888-1889. In 1889 he presented a modified shutter he built on the model of a camera by Baron Armand de Moffarts. Slides, seascapes and landscapes. Member of the ABP from 11.2.1879. President of the Liège section of ABP in 1881-1882. Vice-president of ABP from 1895 until 1900, and president in 1901 for a short period. To his passion for the art of photography he added a love of gardening. He was president of the "Société royale d'horticulture" in 1898.
