Photoengraving. Process blocks on zinc and copper. "Blocks, drawings retouched, photographs for illustrations, catalogues, etc." [Mertens, 1914]. Moved to this address at the end of 1904 (Gazet van Antwerpen, 27.11.1904). Moved to no. 7 on 15.6.1914 and occupied a studio there for several decades. The photo-engraving side of the business continued into the interwar period under the management of Hubert, who had trained as a graphic artist. Subsequently, under the impulsion of Alphonse, a trained sculptor, the firm successfully moved into medal making. It remains a leading firm in the specialised field of medals, decorations and awards.
