° 24.4.1852; + 7.9.1905. Large-format studies of the "Construction of the railway from Athus to the Meuse" bearing the lithographed credit "Albert Michant / Photographe à Bruxelles" and dated 1877. Another series dating from 1881 was taken by Joseph Mascré (see that name).
1880 Charleroi
Founded a firm "Société belge de photographie : A. Michant et Cie" on 27.5.1880, the purpose of which was "the reproduction by photography of portraits, objects of art and industry, etc." (Annexe au Moniteur Belge, 15.6.1880). We have not found any trace that this firm actually operated.
1882 - 1903 / Jumet, Rue Richir, 5
CVs of c. 1890 ca bear the name "Albert Michant-Schmidt - Jumet, near the Station". He was the husband of Laure Schmidt (° Fresne [F], 4.6.1850), a music teacher. Left for Brussels - Ixelles, Rue de la Croix, 33 in 1903. Member of the "Photo-Club de Belgique" from 4.9.1901. Demonstration of the carbon process at the "Club d’Amateurs Photographes de Belgique" on 25 and 26.10.1902.
