Jules Isidore Joseph, ° 8.6.1828; + 3.10.1882. The son of a military doctor from Tournai, he opened a studio in his parents’ house. "Photographic establishment opening soon" (La Meuse, 14.8.1862). There was possibly a family tie with the daguerreotypist Lefebvre - Midavaine in Tournai. Patent of 17.7.1862 for "a mobile board for use in the photographic art for making positives" [enabling the background tint to be uniform]. He turned to journalism in the 1870s.
