Johannes Arie Mooy (° Leiden [NL], 29.3.1875; + Antwerp - Deurne, 10.3.1946) was initially registered as a journeyman photographer on Becker's premises at Rue Rubens, 10 in 1898. "Joh. A. Mooy & Co" on CV; "A. Moog & Cie" in trade directories, listing street no. 20-22. Occupation subsequently recorded as barman and sailor in 1906 and sailor in 1911. Mooy left Antwerp at the outbreak of World War I and returned in 1923 to resume his life as a mariner there.
