Désiré Joseph, ° 22.1.1870; + 13.11.1948. Sometimes transcribed "Namêche". Recorded as a glassmaker domiciled in Auvelois at the occasion of his wedding to Alixe Lambillotte (° 1875) in Velaine-sur-Sambre on 23.12.1899. Recorded as a glassmaker labourer resident in Auvelais in December 1901 and in April 1903. On CV, c. 1904, "opposite the church". On card mount, c. 1912, "charcoal and crayon portraits". "First prize at the Châtelet competition, 1916". Continued to operate in Auvelais, at Rue Saint-Roche, throughout the interwar period and was still recorded as a photographer at that address when he died.
