° 20.7.1855. Sometimes transcribed "Nelissen". At his wedding in Bourg Léopold on 8.10.1885 to Jeanne Clémence Florence Gotthold (° Hasselt, 27.9.1859; + Mol, 4.8.1940), daughter of Jean Henri Gotthold père (see that name), he was recorded as a photographer domiciled in Bourg-Léopold. Moved from Bourg-Léopold to Hasselt, Chaussée de Diest, 25 on 3.11.1885 and was probably active as a studio photographer there from this time onwards. Group photograph dated March 1910 in the negative bearing the credit "J. Nélissen, Hasselt" with no street address. Nélissen predeceased his wife.
