Life dates

Oberhannsdorf [Silesia, D], 1867 - ?, ?

Activity

1898 - 1906 Anvers, Rue du Jardin des Arbalétriers, 5
Predecessor: Schueren Henri #
Georges François, also known as Franz, ° 19.12.1867. No street address in 1898. On CV, awards at the following exhibitions are listed: Rouen, 1898; Hamburg, 1899; Stuttgart, 1899; Frankfurt, 1900; Geneva, 1900; London, 1902. The recipient of these awards was indeed Georges Nitsche but domiciled in Lausanne [CH] and who operated during this period at Rue Grand Pont, 4. He married photographer Henri Schueren's daughter Elsa in Antwerp on 13.2.1900. Georges Nitsche lent his name to the Antwerp studio although it did not seem to have enjoyed the formal status of a branch. Also see entries for his father-in-law Henri Schueren and his younger brother Adolf/Adolphe Nitsche. Although the 1906 Antwerp directory lists him as Schueren's successor at this address, they appear to have operated concurrently for a time.
