1893 - 1894 / Bruges, Rue Sud du Sablon, 21
Alfred Richard Heinrich, ° 12.8.1867. Transcribed "Pallatzky" in official documents. Recorded as a photographer in the population register of Nijmegen [NL] on 20.2.1886, he left for Berlin [D] on 8.2.1887. Arrived in Bruges on 24.10.1889. Operator for Louis Ferdinand Le Bon at this address. He did however sign the first picture postcards of Bruges in his own name. Left for Aalst in November 1894.
1894 * - 1900 Alost, Rue Albert Liénard, 16
Arrived at this address on 30.11.1894. On 13.3.1895 he was joined here by fellow-photographer Hector Teetaert (° Bruges, 21.7.1875; + Bruges, 25.8.1938), who likely operated for Palatzky for about a month before leaving for Bruges on 16.4.1895. "All types of portraits, reasonable prices" (De Denderbode, 11.4.1895). Palatzky had been living in Alost for less than 6 months when he got married in Thulin on 11.3.1895. Julien Terhell (see that name) was recorded as a photographer at this address from 6.6.1896 to 23.10.1896 and must have served as an operator here. Palatzky was still recorded as a photographer domiciled in Alost at the birth of a son in Thulin in February 1900. One source states he may have returned to this address after operating in Charleroi, 1901 ca. But this is highly doubtful as an advertisement in "De Denderbode" on 17.5.1900 announced that Louis Collin (see that name) had access to Alfred Palatzky's negatives and that people could obtain prints from him.
1896 - 1900 Charleroi, Place du Nord, 14
Predecessor: Lievens Gustave
It was Julien Terhell who moved to this address on 23.10.1896 and must have been the operator at this branch.
