° 12.5.1840; + 10.11.1891. Studio photographer operating in Versailles [F] throughout the 1870s and 1880s. He accompanied the geographer and ethnologist Prince Roland Bonaparte (1858 - 1924) to Belgium in the summer of 1885 to photograph the places where the Prince had lived with his parents from 1868 to 1871. A resulting two-volume album "Les Ardennes en 1885" was constituted, comprising 71 albumen prints, of which 41 cover Rochefort, while others feature locations such as the "Grottes de Han" and Orval. The "Bibliothèque nationale de France" possesses a copy. In 1886 Bonaparte donated to the "Société archéologique de Namur" five prints measuring 23 x 17 cm, mounted on card and bearing the Prince’s dry stamp.
