Club founded on 1.12.1903 "with the exclusive aim of seeking and applying means of artistic expression of which photography is capable." Founding president: Ernest Zitting. He was succeeded by Henri Remes, 1908-1911 and Emile Rombaut, 1911-1935. The club had 35 members in 1908 and held meetings at the Taverne Alsacienne, Place Verte, 3 in its early years. Courses, lectures, contests and outings. Offered a course of instruction on gum printing, beginning on 14.2.1905, given by members Elie Fransman, Henri Remes and Ernest Zitting, The club organised three public exhibitions or 'salons' before World War I, the first on 3-10.4.1910, the second one in 1912 and the third one in April 1914.
The club cultivated links with like-minded entities abroad: "The Photo-Club d'Anvers is appealing to photographic associations in France for an exchange of lantern slides. The Club's collection, currently in Austria and having circulated in Germany, could be sent in the near future to France, where it would receive an enthusiastic welcome, given that it only comprises artistic slides, the documentary side being systematically excluded" (La Revue de Photographie, 15.1.1907).
