Bernard Janssens was the instigator of the club and its first president from 1911 to 1922 and again from 1924 to 1928. Subsequently "under the skillful leadership of Leo De Prince". In 1919, it merged with the photography section of "Kenisgilde", the alumni association of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lier, section founded in 1914. The club regained its independence in late 1929. Still in existence over a century later as the "Koninklijke Lierse Fotoclub".
