Founded on 16.6.1898. President: Count Adrien du Bois d'Aische; vice-president: Léon Janssens; secretary: Huyttens de Terbecq; deputy secretary: Georges Evrard; treasurer: Edouard Liberton; deputy treasurer: Léonard Salmon. 19 founder members, rising to 76 members in March 1899. 10 of the members were also or became members of the ABP, including Count Adrien du Bois d'Aische, Jules Baisieux and Edouard Adelot. Initially met on the same premises as member Jos. Vandenbosch lived. New premises, including a posing studio and laboratory, were opened on 2.3.1899. Organised a public exhibition, open to all comers, that took place in "Café Monico", Rue de Diest, on 7-17.9.1900 and included at least 300 prints. "Every exhibitor will be awarded a diploma" (Gazet van Antwerpen, 8.8.1900).
