Ernest Brunschwig (° Paris [F], 16.8.1842; + Paris [F], 7.5.1893) was recorded as a commercial traveller at his wedding in Brussels on 13.12.1871 and as a hotelier at the birth of a daughter in Brussels in March 1880. Brunschwig was living and operating at this address in May and June 1881 when he requested permission to place an advertising display case of photographs on the façade. Ferrotypes, "1 fr. per dozen". This address coexisted with the Brussels studio and also at some point with Charleroi. There was another ferrotyper named T. Taylor (see entry) whose studio in Brussels also traded as "Photographie Américaine", but there is no proven link to Brunschwig.
