Victor Ludovicus, ° 6.6.1857. Member of the photographic section of the "Cercle artistique, littéraire et scientifique d'Anvers". Went into partnership with Eugène Geurts on 30-31.3.1896 with the purpose of running the "Diorama International"; the partnership of Geurts & Portielje was headquartered in Antwerp. Portielje supplied a series of slides, taken and handcoloured by himself, "Tour by several Antwerpers in southern Switzerland and northern Italy", for projection in the Diorama in December 1897.
