° 11.6.1850; + 26.6.1933. Chemist. Teacher at the industrial school, where he succeeded Léonce Rommelaere in 1887 and remained until at least 1898. He worked in the chemical laboratory of the city of Brussels under Henri Berger. Landscapes, flower studies, genre scenes. Secretary General of the ABP from 1890 to 1895. President of the Brussels section of the ABP in 1904. Edited the "Bulletin de l'ABP" for more than 25 years, heading the editorial committee from 1892 onwards. Autochromist from at least October 1908. Presented an autochrome view of the "tower of Cobbeghem" (taken with an expired plate) to his fellow members of the ABP in October 1913. Puttemans was vice-president of the ABP in 1914 and president by 1920. He remained active within the ABP until 1927.
