Raphaël Joseph Constant, ° 5.8.1866; + 12.6.1914. Elder brother of Charles Quatannens. At his wedding in Dixmude on 26.10.1894, recorded as a chicory manufacturer and agent for fire insurance living there. Subsequently, recorded as a photographer living in Dixmude in April 1899. Inventor of a "machine for producing acetylene gas for private and public lighting" that he jointly patented in 1899. A certain Quatannens, photographer in Thielt, was the "inventor of a panoramic camera capable of taking 360° views, that is the totality of the horizon" (La Photo, 20.6.1909, p. 60).
