Hercule known as Achille, ° 17.5.1883. Arrived on 29.4.1909, coming from Sint-Antelinks. He was recorded as a photographer, as were his two brothers who subsequently joined him here: Gilbert Gustaaf, arriving from Ghent, Lievenslaan, 66 on 8.10.1909 and Hector Joseph, arriving from Ghent, Sint-Pietersplein, 14 on 21.10.1910 before leaving for Brussels - Schaerbeek, Rue Jolly, 25 on 9.2.1911. At his wedding in Lille [F] on 8.11.1916, Hercule Achille Geerts, thereafter Achille Geerts - Pladys, was recorded as a photographer domiciled in Lille. His studio around this time was at Rue Nationale, 83. Geerts received a prison sentence of 20 years in May 1921 for collaborating with the German occupiers during World War I.
