At his wedding in Lille [F] on 8.11.1916, Hercule Achille Geerts, thereafter Achille Geerts - Pladys, was recorded as a photographer domiciled in Lille. His studio around this time was at Rue Nationale, 83. Geerts received a prison sentence of 20 years in May 1921 for collaborating with the German occupiers during World War I.
