1875 * - 1878 / Anvers, Rue Léopold, 15
Predecessor: Reifferscheidt Gérard
The partnership between Gérard Reifferscheidt and Auguste Beernaert (see separate entries) was concluded on 1.12.1875 for a period of 3/6/9 years with Reifferscheidt contributing 5,500 francs, but it seems that the partnership was only activated on 17.4.1876. Reifferscheidt was domiciled at this address from 6.11.1875 and was recorded as an artist-painter in the population register. Beernaert arrived here on 4.3.1876, coming from Ghent. He was recorded as a photographer in the population register.
1878 ca Lierre, Rue Lisper, 82
Branch studio of Rue Léopold.
1878 * - 1881 / Anvers, Rue d'Arenberg, 9
Successor: Beernaert Auguste #
After having jointly requested permission to install two new windows at this address on 23.9.1878, both partners moved here on 11.11.1878. Once again Reifferscheidt was recorded as an artist-painter and Beernaert as a photographer. Reifferscheidt was a witness at the wedding of his fellow Cologne-native photographer Balduin Schwarz (see that name) in Brussels on 27.8.1879 where he was recorded as a painter, perhaps suggesting that his main activity in the studio was retouching rather than taking portraits. The partnership must have been dissolved in the first half of 1881. Reifferscheidt left for Brussels - Saint-Gilles on 21.1.1881 while Beernaert left for Ghent on 28.7.1881. CV memorial card for a man who died on 6.3.1881 still in the name of both partners. Reifferscheidt was also recorded in Brussels - Saint-Josse in 1881.
