Léon François Joseph, ° 29.2.1860; + 17.5.1946. Doctor of natural science. President of the Liège section of the ABP from 1897 until 1899. In 1898, he presented a report on the creation of the museum of documentary photography in Paris. Vermeil (i.e. runner-up) medal at the Chambéry competition, 1903. Member of the jury for Group 12 'Photography' at the 1905 Liège international exhibition. One of the first photographers from Liège to show interest in colour photography, Roland took Lumière autochromes between 1910 and 1915 and exhibited some (autumn impressions around Aywaille) at the ABP's 25th annual slide show in Liège in April 1913. He was vice-president of the ABP in 1920 and remained active within the organisation until about 1925.
