Geologist. Curator of the "Musée royal d'histoire naturelle de Belgique", 1888-1919. Numerous publications in geology, paleontology and prehistoric archeology. Experiments in theatre photography. Secretary general of the ABP from 1884 to 1887. President of the Brussels section of the ABP in 1893 and until at least 1897. Member of the "Académie royale des Sciences de Belgique". Member of the "Société belge de microscopie". Knight of the Leopold Order. Still a member of the ABP in 1922.
