Honoré Constantinus Nicodemus, ° 9.3.1869; + 26.2.1957. Pharmacist. Graduated as a pharmacist from the University of Ghent in 1894. Probably started with photography as an amateur. Secretary of the "Société yproise de photographie" in 1896. Member of the "Cercle d’Art Photographique L’Effort", according to the catalogue for the "Photo-Club de Paris" exhibition of 1902. Atmospheric coastal scenes. Recorded the aftermath of a storm in August 1912, published in the form of postcards. Promoted tourism and published a guide book to the region.

Arrived at this address on 8.12.1898, coming from Antwerp. Advertising here in July 1899 with photographic supplies for amateurs, developing of prints and enlarging negatives (Het Advertentieblad van Veurne, 8.7.1899). Still advertising his pharmacy here in December 1902.

Opened a pharmacy "Den Hert / Le Cerf" where, amongst supplementary activities, he provided a portrait studio for visiting amateurs and published picture postcards from his own negatives. During World War I, he operated under the trade name of "Photo de l'Yser" or "Yser Photo Ruyssen Furnes". In the interwar years, he painted and sketched views of Furnes and La Panne.
