Successor: Blondel Victor
Gervais Victor, ° 22.2.1828; + 20.12.1878. First recorded in the Belgian foreigners' register in 1858. There are CVs of Sallas alone at this address, on coated lithographed card mounts, c. 1860. Thereafter, partnership with Henri Blanckart advertised in June 1860. Sallas continued alone after Blanckart's departure at an unspecified date, probably until the studio was acquired by Victor Blondel. A certain Sallas operated in Fleurance [Gers, F] in c. 1866 and Arles [Bouches-du-Rhône, F], Place Royale, 23 under the trade name "Photographie du Progrès" in 1867-1868. Victor Sallas operated a studio in Châtellerault [Vienne, F], Rue de la Promenade, 62 from July 1871 and into 1872 in partnership with his wife Florence Simon. Sallas then seems to have abandoned photography. When he died, he was a commercial traveller domiciled in Paris [F] on a visit to Brussels.
