Activity

1897 - 1914 Eecloo, Rue des Pères, 18<98> or 24<05-14>
Edmundus Carolus, ° 15.7.1863. Artist - draughtsman. On CV, "Antwerp, 1894 (medal)". Moved to Maldegem in 1906. In May 1909, Edmond Van Overberghe (° Eeklo, 11.1.1885) advertised that he had taken over Sandyck's studio at this address. Van Overberghe claimed to have worked for the biggest studios in Brussels and Leuven. Since Sandyck still included this address in a 1911 advertisement, it is likely that Van Overberghe was the operator at this address from 1909 onwards rather than his successor. Street address attested to in directories until 1911. In the interwar years, Van Overberghe had his own studio in Eeclo.
1902 ca - 1914 > Maldegem, Rue de la Station, 23
Continued to operate in this street in Maldegem in the interwar period. Still recorded as a photographer in 1931, at the occasion of his wedding in Maldegem.
1910 Maldegem, Noordstraat, "next to the Kasteeltje"
"Edmond Van Overberghe, photographer for the Sandijk studio in Eecloo, will operate all day during First Communion" (13.3.1910).
