Activity

1900 - 1914 > Bastogne, Rue du Sablon, 41
Predecessor: Schumacher Nicolas
Alphonse Pierre, ° 27.6.1854. Older brother of Nicolas Schumacher. Postcards of Bastogne credited with the name "A. Schumacher" exist with postmarks as early as 1900, but no mention of a street address. "Studio on the first floor; enlarging and copying. All types of photographs". CV with no first name. "Photographie Moderne Schumacher, Bastogne", without a street address on an envelope postmarked 1907. Adolphe's 1919 passport records him as a photographer who had arrived at this address on 19.4.1893 and does not indicate a change of address. "Grand Rue" on some photographs, a designation covering both the Rue du Sablon and Rue du Vivier which curiously lie on opposite sides of the same street. "Photographie Schumacher" was still operating in Bastogne in the interwar years.
