° 27.10.1874; + 8.4.1935. Scheutist Catholic missionary and priest on pastoral duty in Eastern Mongolia for fifteen years in six different postings. He left for China on 15.9.1903, returning to Belgium in 1911-1912 and again in 1919. He showed a particular interest in the inhabitants of the country. His brother Jozef (1868 - 1900), in post in Mongolia from 1895 and killed during the boxer rebellion, may also have photographed there.
