His photograph of a village chieftain near the Saint-Trudon mission in the Kasaï appeared in the periodical "Missions en Chine et au Congo" in November 1899. Other Scheutist missionaries known to have taken photographs in the Congo (the precise details as yet unknown) include August Janssens de Varebeke (1871 - 1942), active in Luluabourg, Omer Beel (1876 - 1934) in Léopoldville and Willem Van Leuven (1871 - 1904) who accompanied Senden in 1894.
