Sometimes spelled "Sluits". From a family of organ builders. Continued to operate at this address alone after separating from Jos. Delehaye, his long-term business partner. Sluyts arrived on 8.8.1863 and left on 20.10.1869, but appears to have continued to run the studio on his own for several years afterwards. CV in the name of Sluyts alone from c. 1867. Subsequently, Sluyts became a dealer in spirits, a business he acquired by marriage to the widow of the original proprietor.
