Fortuné Joseph Ghislain, ° 20.2.1864; + March 1936. On the occasion of his wedding to Jeanne Eugènie Marie Joseph Hannet in Tournai on 22.7.1889, he was recorded as a shopkeeper living with his parents in Boneffe. Jeanne was the daughter of Philippe Hannet (see that name) who was probably instrumental in Stainier turning to photography. Stainier was registered in the Antwerp population registry until 1894. The studios in Antwerp, Heist and Tournai coexisted for a while.

Failing to find a buyer for the "Hannet - Stainier" studio when it was put up for sale in December 1894 (Le Courrier de l'Escaut, 14.12.1894), Stainier’s father-in-law Philippe Hannet transferred the studio to him on his retirement. It continued trading under an operator through 1895. Stainier ceased trading here by September 1896 when he put the place up for rent, leaving the studio temporarily empty.
