° 10.2.1790; + 25.2.1875. Optician and "spectacle dealer". Father of Adolphe and Gustave. He arrived in Liège in 1821 and settled at no. 16 bis. Optician in the eye clinic. From 1842, he sold daguerreotype plates and cameras. He left for Aix-la-Chapelle [Prussia] and Maastricht [NL] on 11.2.1843 and returned from there at an unspecified date. On his death certificate, Straus was recorded as a person of independent means.
