Victor Edouard Emile, ° 7.1.1806; + 11.10.1869. Person of independent means. Practised the calotype, ie paper negative process, in the early 1850s. A substantial article in the "Courrier du Bas-Rhin" of 2.7.1852 describes many of his views, including the interior of the law courts and the bishop's palace in Liège and the cathedral cloisters and "maison des Francs-Bateliers" in Ghent. The Bibliothèque nationale de France possesses an undated salt paper print of the "maison des Francs-Bateliers", 21.2 x 28.8 cm, proving that Stribeck took images up to full-plate size.
