Arrived in Belgium in 1903 and after short stays in Sint-Niklaas (Place de la Gare), Lokeren (Rue du Marché, 50) and Antwerp (Rue Venus, 46) ended up in Ghent. Already recorded as a photographer in November 1904 on his foreigner's file in Antwerp. Subsequently recorded as a photographer domiciled in Ghent at the occasion of his marriage in Ghent on 12.2.1906 and as a photographer in Ghent, Spiegelhofstraat at the birth of a child in April 1907. Listed as a photographer ("Sybrancs") at this address in 1907-1909.

Still active at this address in the 1930s. His brother Hendricus Franciscus Sijbrands was active as a photographer in Amsterdam from 1927 onwards.
