° 2.5.1823; + 18.2.1905. Registered at this address as a portrait painter and a photographer in about 1866, coming from Gembloux. From June 1852 to January-February 1856, working as a portrait painter, Taquin lived intermittently in Namur, Rue des Fossés Fleuris, "Hôtel du Grand Sanglier" with a studio in Rue de Bruxelles, 35 (L'Etoile belge, 18.12.1853). Here he produced lithographed portraits from photographs. "The likeness is guaranteed in 50 minutes sitting" (L'Ami de l'Ordre, 5.12.1856).

On 2.7.1872 "Mr Taquin, painter" [no mention of photography] announced the transfer of his residence to Rue du Collège, 9.
1877 - 1880 Namur, Rue de Bruxelles, 44
"Portraits of all sizes in oil paints. Restoration and cleaning of old paintings. Photography. Photopainting on canvas & on panels, after portraits on brooches, etc. Copying and enlargements" (letterhead, 1879). From 1889 until 1892 he was domiciled at Rue Godefroid, 35, and in 1895 at Rue Godefroid, 14.
