° 20.12.1843. Arrived from Turin [I] on 6.3.1869 (according to the police at the beginning of February). A certain Valvo Santino or Valvo - Sortino was listed in the 1869 Turin directory. An operator at Sebastiano Gecele’s studio, he replaced Siondino, whom he was later to employ in Bruges. Patent of 27.2.1869 for "a photographic process" [triple tinting on prints with dissolving background].

Initially operated out of Herman Van Marcke's studio at Place des Biscayens, 81 until his own studio was ready for use (Journal de Bruges, 16.2.1870). Operational here by 6.4.1870. In July 1870, "on Mr Burdo's premises" (Journal de Bruges, 24.7.1870). In 1871, no street number when operating in May and address still being used on CV mount numbered 1218 and dated August 1871.

Moved to this address on 1.5.1871 and left in early October 1873. Corrado Valvo's brother François / Francisco Valvo (° Noto [Sicily, I], 25.12.1850) worked with him as an operator at this address and may have stayed on under Arthur Brayer, before leaving for Liège on 6.9.1874. Corrado Valvo probably returned to Sicily, since there are CVs bearing the credit on recto "Valvo Photo / Catane Syracuse" and on verso the statement in French "Patented in Italy and in Belgium". A certain Corrado Valvo Sortina of Catania [I] exhibited a view of Mount Etna at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878.
