Léon Pierre François Van Damme (° Brussels - Saint-Josse, 24.3.1855) was recorded as an industrialist at the occasion of his wedding in Brussels on 9.2.1884 and would later be active as an engraver and editor at this address. Sometimes printed "Vandamme". Publisher of the periodical "L'Objectif" from October 1896. Photogravure and photozincogravure. "Halftone and line blocks" [Mertens, 1906]. His future business partner Charles Rossignol was already recorded at this address in 1900 and was almost certainly a collaborator from about 1899.
