Prudent Van de Velde (° Kalken, 3.10.1873; + Kalken, 1920) and his younger brother Emiel (° Kalken, 21.12.1879; + Kalken, 1939). Printer-publishers of picture postcards. Advertising with photography and collotype in 1912 (De Scheldegalm, 25.2.1912). Early postcards bear the initials of Prudent, while later postcards have either Prudent's, Emiel's or both their initials. Emiel was listed alone under photographers in 1914. They founded the first printing works in Kalken in 1893 and were also the publishers of a local newspaper "De Scheldegelm".
