"French and foreign prints, paintings and watercolours" (L'Indépendance Belge", 1.1.1869). "The firm Van Gogh, of Brussels, has exhibited a large number of publications and prints...We have examined with interest the fine photographs after paintings ... also exhibited by Goupil" (L'Écho du Parlement Belge, 16.9.1868). Published a leporello (concertina-style) view book "Souvenir de Bruxelles", c. 1875, containing 13 albumen prints. Although Van Gogh’s employee Tobie "Victor" Schmidt (° Rothenkirchen [Saxony, D], 12.8.1842; + Brussels - Saint-Gilles, 22.2.1903) appears to have acquired the business by 1876, the firm continued to trade under Van Gogh’s name at this address until at least August 1879.
