° 8.3.1869; + 20.2.1909. Scheutist Catholic missionary. Left for China on 18.9.1892. His print of the martyred Monsigneur Hamer, murdered during the Boxer rebellion, appeared in the periodical "Missions en Chine et au Congo" in 1902. Other Scheutist missionaries known to have taken photographs in Mongolia include Piet De Leeuw (1877 - 1943), René Leva (1880 - 1958) and Louis Kervyn (1880 - 1939), an album of whom is held at the KADOC, Leuven.
