° 6.9.1824; + 4.12.1885. Also "de la Marck de Lummen" on CVs, 1865. He arrived in Bruges on 18.9.1853 from Antwerp, where he probably attended courses at the Academy. He introduced himself as a former retoucher with Disdéri in Paris. His first CVs carry the statement "former pupil of Ghémar Frères". First advertisement, for CVs, in Bruges on 27.3.1860. He and his family moved out on 6.7.1878 at the latest (another source gives 7.11.1877) and he appears to have abandoned photography at this point. His profession on his death certificate was recorded as "artist-painter".
