Itinerants at this address in February 1878. "All kinds of portraits, even in carbon, in all sizes..." (Nieuwsblad van Gheel, 9.2.1878). Most probably Auguste Van Moegen (° Maastricht [NL], 8.9.1840; + Namur, 25.12.1904) and Alphonse De Brender (see that name). Van Moegen was consistently recorded as a photographer resident in Antwerp at the following addresses: Rue des Bouchers, 35 from 28.6.1871 to 3.6.1873; Rue des Vieillards, 7 from 3.6.1873 to 25.7.1876; Rue de Breda, 1 from 29.12.1879 to 7.10.1881 and Rue de la Cuillère, 30 from 8.10.1881 to 17.2.1883 at which point he finally left Antwerp for Lille [F]. Van Moegen also resided in Brussels - Saint-Josse in 1871 and 1879. In May 1897 and on his death certificate, Van Moegen was recorded as a photographer domiciled in Namur. His name is also transcribed "Van Mogen", "Von Mogen" or "Von Moegen".
