Constant Jean Laurent, ° 2.9.1840. Lithographer and photographer. Recorded as a lithographic engraver resident in Binche on the occasion of his wedding to Joséphine Francotte (° Ayeneux, Liège, 12.5.1836) in Brussels - Ixelles on 23.12.1863; also as an engraver and photographer on his marriage contract dated 27.11.1863. Ink stamp on CV, "Lithographed address and visiting cards with portrait header a speciality" (La Colombe, 1.3.1863).
1865 * - 1867 / Bruxelles, Rue Camusel, 19 or 28
Left Binche for Brussels and arrived there on 28.9.1864. Initially registered as a lithographer at Rue du Lombard, 13. Subsequently moved to this address (no. 19) on 9.8.1865, while the 1866 population register records him at no. 28. On CV (at no. 19), "Vast studios at the end of the garden open every day and in all weather from 8 in the morning to 6 in the evening". Moved to Brussels - Saint-Gilles on 7.11.1867.

Lieutenant. Patent of 15.6.1880 and patents relating to improvements of 15.7.1880 and 31.5.1881 for a "wet collodion photographic camera" [Magicograph, with in-camera processing]. He constructed another self-processing camera in 1884, designed by Léon Massaux (see that name).
