° 28.1.1834. Probably the oldest photography firm still operating in Belgium today ("Studio Verhassel / photographes de reportages", Brussels - Schaerbeek). Recorded as a photographer aged 24 domiciled in Brussels when signing as witness on the death certificate of Jean Louis Bargignac (= B. Leba) in Brussels on 10.6.1858. Verhassel took ambrotypes at this address. His wedding certificate of 11.4.1863 records his domicile as Brussels - Molenbeek.

On CV, "Inventor of a system of permanent photography applicable to enlargements. Portrait studio, specially arranged for photography." It appears that this branch studio existed only for a short while.
