He returned to his father's house, probably to take over running the studio. The studio was active throughout the interwar period and beyond, initially still employing the first name Egide, listed from 1921 to 1931 under the initial "E.", then "G." from 1932 onwards. Concurrently, G. Verhassel was listed in Brussels, Rue des Foulons, 65 from 1924 to 1927, and in Brussels, Rue des Fripiers, 25 from 1936 to 1939 and beyond. Subsequently "Studio Verhassel" passed to a third-generation photographer, Georges’ daughter Emma, and is still operating in Brussels - Schaerbeek under the trade name "Ars Nova Studio Verhassel".
