Jean Joseph, ° 13.12.1851; + 28.9.1932. Meteorologist at the "Observatoire royal de Belgique". Author of the brochure "Comment on photographie les nuages", Brussels, 1899, 16 pp. [offprint from the "Annuaire de l'Observatoire royal de Belgique"], illustrated with halftones from his own negatives. Recommended the use of Lumière orthochromatic plates "sensitive to yellow and green" for photographing clouds (Aide-mémoire de la photographie, 1898, p. 173). Subsequently first director of the "Institut royal météorologique de Belgique" founded in 1913.
